This family already had a pavilion for entertaining, but they wanted to do more with the outdoor space around it. A fireplace, bar-height seating, and dedicated food preparation area would give them more ways to host, cook, and spend time outside.

The challenge was making everything new feel like it belonged with what was already there. An accented paver patio connects with the existing concrete patio while giving the expanded area its own character. C&S Lawn Service and Landscape matched the existing veneers when constructing the fireplace and tables, helping the additions feel like a natural extension of the home. Natural limestone was used for the fireplace coping and bar-height countertop, while granite provides a durable surface for food preparation.

Some of the most important planning happened behind the finished space. C&S rerouted the existing drainage swale to make room for the fireplace and patio without compromising the property’s drainage. A natural gas fireplace with a log starter makes it easier to enjoy a fire even on damp or breezy days, while low-voltage lighting extends the atmosphere into the evening. Privacy plantings create a more secluded setting around the space.

Now, the pavilion is part of a larger outdoor experience—one with room to prepare dinner, pull up a seat at the bar, relax around the fire, entertain friends and family, and keep enjoying the backyard after the sun goes down.
